Perfect Power Wash’s Dream Team aims to give back to the communities we service by helping beautify and maintain the properties they inhabit. In our Dream Team’s most recent endeavor, we had the privilege of helping an organization that strives to do the same. Generation House, located in Elyria and owned and operated by Church of the Open Door, welcomes individuals with varying dispositions from their Elyria neighborhood and beyond to stay in the home, free of charge, until they are prepared to move on. Recently, one of their tenants was able to go out on their own, moving to Columbus. Most recently, Generation House took in several Ukrainian refugees in light of their home country’s ongoing war.
Church of the Open Door has several Northeast Ohio branches in Avon Lake, Elyria, Lorain, and Vermillion, as well as a branch in the Dominican Republic. Generation House, the only property of its kind owned by Church of the Open Door, is run by Executive Director Lois Pozega and Maintenance Chief Jeff Carson. While Lois generally handles the day-to-day operations, Jeff keeps the home’s exterior looking beautiful with landscaping and general upkeep. When Jeff reached out to have the property’s exterior power washed, our Dream Team insisted they step in and take care of it for them, free of charge.
Our technicians spent a morning cleaning the home’s exterior to remove any surface contaminants living on the home’s siding in preparation for them to have a fresh coat of paint applied to finish the transformation. Additionally, they even spent some washing the playground out back so the children living there would have clean and safe surfaces to play on. Partnering with Church of the Open Door was simple— their mission is simply to make their community and the world a better place.
